About the area

Nanango is a town in the South Burnett region of Queensland, 190 kilometres north-west of Brisbane. Mining and agriculture are the town's main industries. The town has two primary schools and a state high school, as well as a number of sporting clubs and parklands, craft outlets and an art gallery. The monthly markets are the largest in rural South-East Queensland and a number of festivals are held throughout the year. Nanango caters for tourists and day-trippers who explore the surrounding towns or travel north to Rockhampton or south to Sydney/Melbourne. South of the town is the Palms National Park, with tracks through a subtropical rainforest.
