Berry acts as a gateway through to other towns and villages along the South Coast of NSW via the Princes Highway and the South Coast railway line.

Located 15 minutes from Berry, and within the Shoalhaven region, is Shoalhaven Heads. The town has a surfing beach, access to the Shoalhaven River and is surrounded by wineries. Shoalhaven Heads is a small village, but it has a full range of facilities, including a bowling and recreation club, golf club and hotel, and the local shops include a Post Office, newsagents, two local stores, bakery, butchers, hairdressers, cafe, bottle shop, and restaurants. Shoalhaven Heads is also only 15 minutes from Berry, known for its antique shops, specialty shops and historic buildings.
